PROFILE     As a premier promotional agency, Gujarat Industrial Development Corporation (GIDC) is striving to provide all the basic infrastructure facilities to the industries in Gujarat. GIDC is developing industrial estates all over the State and offering basic amenities in major developed industrial estates. It is also developing functional estates to fulfill specific needs of certain industries. GIDC is also involved in checking environmental degradation by resorting to specific measures.    Services  Provides infrastructure facilities like plots of land/sheds, internal roads, effluent disposal facilities, arrangement for supply of water and power in the industrial estates Amenities like fire stations, hotels and canteens, banks, post offices, housing, schools, hospitals, shopping centres, etc. made available in major developed industrial estates Develops functional estates like the chemical estates  Ankleshwar, Panoli and Vapi, an exclusive electronic estate equipped with satellite earth station at Gandhinagar, ceramic estate of Thangadh, and Kadi, plastic processing zone at Sarigam. To meet with the requirements of large industries, developed mega estates at Vagra and Jhagadia in Bharuch district for chemical industries and at Savli in Vadodara district for non-polluting industries  257approved industrial estates all over the State For checking the menace of pollution, taken specific measures such as developing effluent collection network, common effluent treatment plants, disposal system for the treated effluents and tree plantation.
